![]() We had previously discussed with our friends Jen & Keith of West Coast Primal what we needed to do to make our kombucha more carbonated (and we’re still working out the kinks here at home).īut ordering the kombucha (or the house-made ginger ale) which you see above are both great options if you’re looking for something more than water with your meal. Just having it on tap gave me high hopes for it’s flavor…and you know what? It was super-freaking-delicious! West Coast Primal and Paleo Porn at Chris Kresser’s Launch Party. That glass of kombucha had much tighter bubbles than our homemade version so I was super curious to try Roam’s flavored kombucha. While in Berkeley we had already tried a glass of fresh-brewed kombucha served at Chris Kresser’s Your Personal Paleo Code launch party. :) This time around I decided to go with my instinct and make my order simple.Ī little note at the register showed the featured flavor of kombucha that was currently available on tap. 100% grass-fed beef, turkey, bison, elk…and those were only the burger options! Everything sounded fantastic but I knew better from our past experience at Hu Kitchen, where I pretty much ordered one of everything. There were so many options that I wanted to try. We walked in around noon so even though every table was filled with people on their lunch break there was one table awaiting our arrival (and no we didn’t make reservations, we just got lucky). When you walk up to the Fillmore Street location, if you’re not paying attention you could easily walk right on by. Thanks to our nifty Ness app’s recommendation, we stumbled upon Roam and after ordering a little of this and a little of that we stuck around to also work a bit. While Jeff & I were in San Francisco last month we spent some time working at a coffee shop and then decided to find a place nearby to eat lunch. Paleo Rating: On a scale of 1-5 (5 being paleo perfection), how paleo is it? A 5 star restaurant will have grass-fed and pasture raised meats, local, organic produce and no peanut oil in sight. Tahoe on a powder day is also pretty high up on the list.Restaurant Rating: How good is it? On a scale of 1-5 (5 being the best we've ever had), how good is the restaurant, no matter if it's paleo or not. Really anywhere north of San Francisco for a long bike ride or a hike with coastal views. Lynn: Either Marin, Sonoma, or Russian River Valley. My dad and I often head out on a Thursday night, eat somewhere great like the bar at Bottega in Yountville, then play golf at Silverado on Friday morning, and I'm back in the city before dinner. What's your favorite place to go on a day trip from the city? Or, if there's swell, a surf out in Bolinas.Ħ. Lynn: Head over the Golden Gate into Marin for a bike ride plus shopping. We actually spent a summer living out on the 11th hole, so it's kind of like going back home. Josh: I sneak out to Marin and hit golf balls at Peacock Gap. When you need a low-key afternoon, where do you go for down time? Lynn: A bike ride or hike until dark, then seeking out an epic meal at one of SF's many great restaurants.Ĥ. Josh: Starts with a drink at The Battery, dinner at Tosca, then if it's nice out, a night cap on the rooftop at Lolinda. Lynn: Everything organic sold at the local farmers markets.ģ. Josh: Birria at Nopalito or lamb riblets at Kokkari. What's your hands-down, absolute favorite thing to eat in SF? I am extremely happy in my 'hood, though I'm sure there could be other places with awesome beauty.Ģ. Within a few minutes walk, I can be at the coast with incredible views or trekking through the forest to Planet Granite for a climbing session. ![]() It feels like country living, but you're still in the city. Lynn: The Presidio, on the bay side of the park. I'm definitely happy there, but could see myself settling down in Marin some day. It's a perfect area, right between Union, Chestnut, and Polk with lots of great restaurants, bars, and shops. What neighborhood do you currently call home?
